Sometimes we forget- forget that we must love on ourselves and ourselves- even the ugly bits before we can truly love others well. Today, I’m writing about the things that I love about myself.

Before this post is through, I hope that you can grab hold of at least one thing that you love about yourself.
- I’m incredibly strong and resilient. Sometimes more than I know or even recognize. I’ve navigated through seasons of anxiety and deep depression. Through intensely bad relationships, heartbreak, loss, I’m still swinging at life. I’ve been called out, hurt, demoralized, but I’m still here. Sometimes in the midst of these things- I forget all the things that the Lord has rescued me from- all the ways He’s restored me, all the grace He’s lavished on me. When I think back on the darkest of days, I see the enormity of His love for me as He waded through the mire of life to get to me- to restore me. It’s because of Him I’m here today and that first statement is always will be true- even when I can’t even see it.
- I love deeply and completely. I feel all the things- see all the things, discern all the things. Discernment is a gift that I have only recently come to value and trust in myself as a gift that the Lord uses. It sometimes means feeling or knowing something that I don’t want to know, but allows me to view the thing through a new lens. It might be a person or a situation that I can see as bad news- only recently I’ve been able to vocalize my concerns because the Lord has given me this gift.
- I have a way with words. I can make anything sound good, fluff up anything boring, and put words in a way that are non-offense but direct if need be. If you need your resume updated, an email/letter re-written, or something proofread- I’m your girl.
I continue to recognize things that make me tick, that make me who I am and although, I wish I would have realized these things before middle-age- I’m appreciating it now and embracing it. I’m sure you have things you love about yourself- share with us if you want- We love to hear. If your not sure- ask someone close to you- maybe they can see something that you can’t. You are a vital piece of this world and your gifts are perfect.
